GlobalMinds is a research programme run by Akrivia Health, which is the trading name of Cristal Health Ltd (Company Number 11892096). Akrivia Health is the data controller, which means we decide what data is used and how for the purposes of the GlobalMinds programme. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), ZA522852.
This information tells you about how we use your personal data for the purpose of the programme. Personal data is data that relates to you, and which can be used to identify you, either by itself or by combining it with other data. Technical identifiers | If you enrol online we will store a username and password. If you provide consent, we will collect information about your use of the website and GlobalMinds Hub to monitor recruitment pathways. |
Enquiries | If you contact us with a question we will use this data to answer it. |
Data protection law requires organisations to have a ‘lawful basis’ for using personal data.
We rely on having a legitimate interest in using the data for research purposes. Legitimate interest allows an organisation to use your personal data if they have a good reason to do so, as long as it doesn’t unfairly impact your rights and freedoms. Our legitimate interest is that the research will contribute to development of new treatments for depression, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia and dementias.
We rely on your consent to contact you for other purposes (including updates about Akrivia Health, and taking part in out public & patient involvement network).
We rely on your consent to use information to track your use of the GlobalMinds Hub. This helps us understand how easy the Hub is to use.
We keep data for only as long as we need it.
Programme data will be retained for 5 years after the close of the programme.
Contact preference information is retained indefinitely, so that we know whether you have consented to be contacted or not.
If you make an enquiry about the programme we will keep the data for 6 months after our last contact with you.
Akrivia Health uses suppliers to process data on our behalf, these include:
Secure cloud storage providers,
NHS Trusts (if you enrol on-site),
Remote phlebotomy services (trained professionals who will visit participant’s homes to take blood samples),
Sample kit ordering system (if you enrol remotely),
Sample storage providers,
DNA sequencing provider.

The right to access data – you have the right to request access to data that we hold relating to you.

As part of enrolment we use automated decision-making to decide whether you are eligible for the GlobalMinds programme. This process uses data you have provided (NHS number, date of birth, and diagnosis). The decision-making replicates what a human would do. We do not think that this processing has a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
